By now everyone knows there is currently a great debate ongoing about what role the Federal Government should play—if any—in changing or “reforming” our healthcare system in the United States.
There is no way to even summarize my feelings on this great issue as
I am all over the map in my thinking and logic, and can only imagine many
of you feel the same way. On the one hand we have great compassion for
the guy who lost his job and can’t get health insurance for his family
because his wife has diabetes. On the other hand how many of us really
want a new Federal program?
All that aside there is a good chance changes in the way we approach healthcare in our nation will occur. Which brings me to the point of our message this month. We need your help, and we are requesting that you take action now, this week, while Congress is still in recess and before the final debates occur in Congress and at the White House.
Research of chiropractic benefits by an emerging field of chiropractic science, and U.S. Federal recognition of the benefits of spinal manipulation in the landmark 1994 Clinical Practice Guidelines for the treatment of Low Back Pain are not enough. We need you to go to the following website and send an e-mail or call your congressman and senators, telling them to please keep chiropractic coverage in any approved legislation:
This is a secure website run by the American Chiropractic Association. Please do this today, and protect your access to chiropractic services. Remember, this is not just about whether there is a “public option.” Our concern is that no matter what form of legislation passes, we want you to have coverage for quality chiropractic services.
